We are thrilled to be part of an on-going collaboration with NIBRT which culminated in the Pharma Project of the Year Award 2024. Pictured are Michael Butler and Laura Breen (NIBRT) and our own Tod Canty.
This award was based on our collaborative research resulting in two important papers, Single Cell Analysis of Chinese hamster ovary cells during a bioprocess using a Novel Dynamic Imaging System, and Measurement and control of foam generation in a mammalian cell culture.
Tod Canty, President JM Canty “The analyzer offers significant environmental benefits by supporting sustainability efforts. It eliminates the use of carcinogenic stains, reduces reliance on vials, and removes the need for manual dilution. Additionally, this method allows for earlier detection of cell viability without the need for cell rupture. As the industry shifts toward higher concentrations of cells, which can lead to cluster formation, this technology helps detect and minimize these clusters throughout the production cycle. It also enables continuous, 24/7 operation, reducing labor requirements in lab environments. Canty is positioned to lead the world in this field.”
