PHARMAFLOW PARTICLE SIZING SYSTEM

The Canty PHARMAFLOW™ has been engineered to analyze small volume samples for particle size, shape and concentration. The PHARMAFLOW™ easily converts from a lab unit to allow for continuous sampling in-line using sanitary Tri-Clamp™ connections. It offers microscopic, non-destructive viewing and provides particle size analysis with two dimensional results when used in conjunction with the CantyVisionClient™ Software. The vision system, with integral lighting, features precision optics designed to enhance the image prior to display or analysis. The image sensor is a high resolution / high speed CCD camera coupled to a microscopic lens system. The system offers zoom and focus ability, variable lighting, and multiple objective lens packages to cover a range of sizes. The PHARMAFLOW™ features the FUSEVIEW™ window as the flush product contact barrier which ensures laminar flow & eliminates pockets for potential product build-up. Sizing down to 0.7 micron is possible with the high magnification optics and high intensity light source. A variety of pumps can be used in conjunction with the system, including syringe style injection as well as peristaltic pumps.

SPRAY DRYER CAMERA

CANTY Spray Dryer Monitoring Systems are vision based, industrial camera / light combinations used to view spray nozzle patterns in real time. This allows operators to see changes in the profile of the spray pattern, and detect clogging before it becomes a problem. Operators can easily view for product build-up before there is a chance for fire. This Vision System can be automated by the CANTY Vector™ Image Processor to measure the size and shape of the spray pattern profile. 4-2mA or OPC alarms can then be sent to the control system if nozzles clog or the spray pattern changes.

PHASE SPLIT – DECANTER CONTROL

Monitor phase split in batch mode on organic droplets for increased product recovery. As the droplets appear the system warns of organic phase and the upcoming emulsion. The amount of early droplets and their retraction time will indicate the completeness of the separation. Once the split is identified and stopped, the operator has a visual verification from the video monitor. The color can then be analyzed to ensure there is no inversion.

CENTRIFUGE CAMERA CONTROL

A camera light combination system is mounted to the centrifuge using the CANTY angled mounting plate. This allows for continuous monitoring from the control room, of initial product filling, the various washing and spinning cycles, and product discharge, therefore enabling greater operator control and efficient identification of any process issues. In the control room, the Vector™ image processing computer will analyze this view and provide a 4-20mA or OPC output of fill level, filtering level, and a separate cake (solids) detection signal. The level control allows for consistent batching to the centrifuge. The cake detection 4-20mA or OPC output signal provides for immediate detection of solids, which prevent the cake from cracking. This means higher product yield due to fewer washes, and ultimately better product quality.
